The 3rd annual Montgomery County GreenFest will take place on Saturday, May 6 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year’s event will be hosted by the City of Gaithersburg at the Bohrer Park and Activity Center located at 512 South Frederick Avenue, Gaithersburg.
In 2016, the event attracted more than a thousand attendees. Exhibitor, plant and food truck vendor registration is now open. Exhibitors may be for-profit or nonprofit organizations who focus on the environment. To apply, exhibitors can go to www.montgomerycountygreenfest.org/become-an-exhibitor. For priority consideration, prospective exhibitors/vendors should submit applications by March 1.
GreenFest, the County’s largest one-day environmental celebration, is a free, family-friendly event dedicated to help County residents explore their path to a greener and economically vibrant life by connecting them with neighbors, local and national environmental leaders, and green businesses and products. In addition to the family-friendly activities and workshops, this year’s event will introduce a new “Kids Pavilion” which will feature water-themed games and activities.
Next to the Kids Pavilion, families can listen to music in the park, enjoy the playground or take advantage of the opening day of the City of Gaithersburg’s brand new mini-golf course, which will feature environmentally-friendly games for the whole family.
The GreenFest committee is also looking for Outreach Ambassadors to help spread the word about the event. For more information about the Ambassador program, contact email@example.com.
The Montgomery County GreenFest is planned by a coalition of partners, including the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection, Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, Montgomery Parks, the cities of Gaithersburg, Takoma Park and Rockville, University of Maryland Extension, Montgomery County Public Schools, and four local community green groups — Bethesda Green, GreenWheaton, Poolesville Green, and Silver Spring Green.
